Nothing says ‘hello Winter’ quite like the Fair Isle knit – cosy, comfortable and perfect for adding a distinctive style to your cold-weather wardrobe.
This classic pattern, which gets its name from a tiny island north of Scotland, is no longer just reserved for weekend getaways to the slopes (or Nanna’s wardrobe), but a casual, everyday winter look that you can easily pull together.
The Fair Isle knit gained popularity back in 1921 after being worn in public by the Prince of Wales. So if you want to look like royalty… just kidding…. but since then, the traditional pattern has expanded to a wide range of clothing and accessories. Even Crocs has caught onto the trend with their Thermalucent Boot!
I’ve rounded up some of my favourite Fair Isle prints below.
Will you be donning the Fair Isle trend this Winter?
