June Gloom no more!

Winter may be here but it doesn’t mean we have to stay cooped up on the couch with a cozy blanket and hot chocolate (although I can’t deny that I’m doing this right now and am rather enjoying it!).

I really don’t enjoy Winter, but compared to the freezing temperatures I’ve experienced in Europe, we really don’t have much to complain about in Australia. And considering our scorching summers, I actually think some things are better left to our cooler months – like my weekend adventure on Puffing Billy.

This century-old steam train still runs its original mountain track from Belgrave to Gembrook through the Dandenong Ranges.

I enjoyed a three-course luncheon while enjoying picturesque views of the Ranges and a stop off at Lake Emerald. There’s truly something calming about being by the lake with the sound of rain lightly falling onto your umbrella and autumn leaves crunching beneath your boots. My Equestrians gave me the perfect mix of comfort and style for negotiating puddles and muddy lakeside trails.
